Capgemini, a global business and technology transformation company, has announced a major leadership transition in its India operations.
After seven successful years as CEO, Ashwin Yardi will retire from his executive role and assume the position of Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Capgemini in India, effective January 1, 2026.
Sanjay Chalke, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO), will take over as CEO on the same date and join the Group Executive Committee.
A Strategic Shift for Continued Growth
Ashwin Yardi’s tenure has been marked by exceptional growth and transformation. Under his leadership, Capgemini India expanded its workforce from 105,500 to nearly 180,000, reinforcing its role as a global hub for delivery excellence, innovation, and talent.
As Non-Executive Chairman, Yardi will focus on nurturing key stakeholder relationships and supporting Chalke through the transition.
Sanjay Chalke’s elevation to CEO reflects Capgemini’s commitment to operational excellence and strategic innovation. His leadership will be pivotal in driving the next phase of growth for Capgemini in India.

Ashwin Yardi — With over three decades at Capgemini, Yardi has held multiple leadership roles across geographies, including the Americas, Europe, and Asia. His expertise spans digital transformation, big data, and automation.
Sanjay Chalke — As COO, Chalke led transformation programs focused on operational excellence, talent strategy, and cross-functional synergies. He is also a member of the India Country Board (ICB).
In his previous role as Executive Vice President and Head of Sogeti India at Capgemini, Sanjay spearheaded strategic initiatives to elevate business performance and talent transformation, building high-performing delivery teams.
He also led the Global SAP Business at DXC Technologies (formerly CSC), managing cross-functional global teams for key clients.
