Following her tenure in the armed forces, Sonica transitioned to the corporate sector, taking on HR leadership roles at Sterlite Copper (a unit of Vedanta Ltd.) and Larsen & Toubro.
At Larsen & Toubro, she held key positions, including Senior Deputy General Manager and Head of HR Domestic Operations, PT&D IC.

She is an alumna of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, where she pursued her studies in engineering and management.
