Maruti Suzuki appoints Satish Mohapatra as VP & Head Central HR

A subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has appointed Satish Mohapatra as Vice President & Head Central HR. In this role, he will be based out of New Delhi.

Satish Mohapatra, VP and Head – Central HR, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) said, “My initial focus and priorities would be to study the existing culture of India’s No. 1 passenger car company, with a rich legacy of 40 years and a dominant market share of more than 40 percent, and bring in a new age, progressive people practices that would help MSIL attract and retain millennial tech talent.”

He is a visionary HR Leader with over 25 years of rich and extensive experience spreading across Automobile, Telecom, Oil & Gas, Engineering & IT which includes India’s largest passenger car maker, a top-notch global technology giant, and 2 super-brand Indian corporates.

He has spread his career across all verticals of HR, including HR strategy, Business Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR M&A, HR Shared Services, Industrial Relations, Strategic Workforce Planning, Global Mobility Management, and Compensation & Benefits in a truly global setup.

Prior to Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Satish was associated with Siemens as Vice President & Head People & Orgn (HR) – ‘Smart Infrastructure’, South Asia. He played the role of Sr. HRBP and Head of People & Organisation for the Smart Infrastructure Operating Company of Siemens in the South Asia geography for 4 years between 2019 and 2023.

His previous stints include working with Atos, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and TATA Communications Ltd. (fka VSNL).

He holds his MA-PMIR, Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, and LLB, Law from Utkal University.
