Mashreq Names Jyothi Bhatula as Global Head and MD

Mashreq, one of the leading financial institutions in the MENA region, has announced the appointment of Jyothi Bhatula as the Global Head of Mashreq Global Network (MGN) and Managing Director of MGN India.

Mark Edwards, Group Head of Operations at Mashreq, expressed confidence in Jyothi’s ability. He believes she will advance MGN as a world-class talent and services platform.

He stated, “With her expertise and proven track record, we are confident that MGN will continue to enable us with world-class talent and services, helping the bank deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to its customers globally.”

Role and Responsibilities at Mashreq

In her new role, Jyothi will oversee the operations of Mashreq Global Network’s distributed workforce platform.

Her responsibilities will span across India, Pakistan, and Egypt.

Her responsibilities include ensuring the delivery of dynamic, high-quality talent and services to support Mashreq’s strategic, digital, and operational goals.

This appointment is expected to drive the continued evolution of MGN as a strategic enabler of Mashreq’s global operations.

Speaking about her new role, Jyothi Bhatula said, “I am deeply honored to join Mashreq, an institution with a remarkable legacy in banking and financial services.”

She added, “Mashreq’s commitment to driving innovation, operational excellence, and digital transformation is truly inspiring and resonates with my professional journey.”

Jyoti said, “I look forward to working closely with the talented teams at MGN and Mashreq to enhance our distributed workforce platform further, ensuring it remains a strategic enabler of the bank’s global vision and growth.”

Background and Appointment

Jyothi Bhatula brings over 20 years of experience in banking and technology services.

Prior to joining Mashreq, she served as the Chief Operating Officer for UBS India Service Co., where she played a key role in integrating Credit Suisse into UBS.

She has also held leadership roles in Singapore and India at Credit Suisse, managing global programs and enhancing operational efficiencies.

Jyothi previously owned and operated two restaurants in Mumbai, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to her new role.

She holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad and an MBA from NUS Business School.
