Merck elevates Dhananjay Singh as MD, Life Science in India

Merck, a prominent science and technology company, appointed Dhananjay Singh as Managing Director of Merck Life Science in India.

As of April 1, 2024, Singh assumed the role from Sreenath N S, who retired after 36 years at Merck India.

“His appointment will be in addition to his current role as Head of Science and Lab Solutions (Commercial), India, which he has held since 2022,” the company stated.

In his capacity as managing director, Singh will spearhead Life Science’s strategy in India, overseeing governance, compliance, and collaboration with other Merck business leaders in the country, as per the company statement.

Over the years, Singh has assumed various leadership positions in commercial organizations, including Sigma-Aldrich and Merck India.

Pratima Reddy, country speaker, Merck India said that Singh’s expertise in market dynamics and multi-stakeholder relationship management will further strengthen Merck Life Science’s position in the Indian market. 

After assuming his new role, Singh stated that Merck Life Science is dedicated to meeting customer demands with a strategic emphasis on ‘India for India and India for the Globe’.

“With our robust partnerships with esteemed customers and our committed team, I am confident that together, we can steer our combined efforts towards achieving unparalleled success,” he said.

“Together, we will be able to navigate the intricate landscape of the life sciences industry in India, steadfastly supporting government initiatives like “Make in India” to foster growth and innovation,” he added.
