Nike Appoints New CHRO, Monique Matheson Retires

Nike, Inc. has announced a significant leadership change within its Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

Treasure Heinle, who has been serving as the Chief Talent Officer since 2022, has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

Her promotion will be effective January 6, 2025.

This promotion comes as Monique Matheson, the current CHRO, retires after a remarkable 26-year tenure with the company.

Responsibilities and Vision at Nike

In her new role as EVP & CHRO, Treasure will be responsible for leading Nike’s global HR function and managing the company’s People vision and strategy.

Her extensive experience across all facets of HR, combined with her proven track record of fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity, positions her as the ideal leader.

Treasure Heinle will report directly to Elliott Hill, President & CEO of Nike, Inc.

Monique Matheson has been with Nike since 199. She has played a pivotal role in establishing the company as a top talent destination.

Her efforts have significantly contributed to Nike’s reputation for attracting and retaining top talent.

Throughout her career, Monique has been committed to creating a high-performance workplace and prioritizing teammate experience.

Elliott Hill expressed his gratitude for Monique’s contributions and wished her all the best in her retirement.

Background and Career Journey

Treasure Heinle joined Nike in 2012 as Vice President of HR Business Partner for North America.

Over the years, she has held various strategic HR roles, including leading Business HR for Nike’s Global Operations and Global Consumer & Marketplace teams.

In this role, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to building high-performing, inclusive teams.

Nike, Inc., based near Beaverton, Oregon, is the world’s leading designer, marketer, and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment.

The company caters to a wide range of sports and fitness activities.

The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary brands include Converse and Jordan Brand.

Both of these brands design, market, and distribute athletic lifestyle footwear, apparel, and accessories.
