Tata AIG Appoints Meghana Rao as Chief HR Officer

Tata AIG General Insurance has appointed Meghana Rao as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

With over two decades of experience in human resources across banking, retail, and e-commerce sectors, Meghana steps into a pivotal role as the company continues to scale its operations and strengthen its employer brand.

In her new position, Meghana will lead Tata AIG’s people agenda, working closely with the leadership team to align talent, organizational structure, and culture with the company’s strategic goals.

Tata AIG CHRO Meghana’s Career Journey

Meghana Rao began her HR career at Larsen & Toubro, where she managed core functions such as hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for the Design Engineering Centre.

She later joined ICICI Bank, where she spent over 15 years in various HR leadership roles, including Zonal Head of HR – South, Talent Acquisition Head – North, and Senior Manager – Employee Relations.

Her tenure at ICICI Bank was marked by strategic workforce planning, talent management across diverse banking verticals, and a strong focus on employee engagement.

In 2021, Meghana moved to Flipkart, where she served as Human Resources Director for the company’s Supply Chain Organisation.

There, she led business HR, diversity and inclusion initiatives, campus engagement, and Centers of Excellence (COEs).

Educational Background and Professional Credentials

Meghana holds a PGDM in Human Resources from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development.

She also earned a Master’s degree in Labour Law and Labour Welfare from Symbiosis Law School, Pune.

She also completed a certification in Strategic HR Management from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

This program equipped her with global perspectives on organizational design and leadership development.

Her expertise spans business partnering, change management, performance management, talent acquisition, inclusion and diversity, and employee engagement.

These capabilities position her strongly to lead HR transformation at Tata AIG.
