Tata Communications Appoints Vaishnavi Shukla as VP – HR

Tata Communications has announced the appointment of Vaishnavi Shukla as its Vice President of Human Resources.

With over 17 years of experience in strategic HR leadership, talent transformation, and organizational development, Vaishnavi is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Tata Communications’ global HR initiatives.

Her appointment aligns with the company’s vision of powering the digital future through secure and connected digital experiences.

Vaishnavi Shukla’s Role and Responsibilities at Tata Communications

As Vice President of Human Resources, Vaishnavi will play a key role in developing and executing HR strategies that support Tata Communications’ business expansion, workforce transformation, and talent optimization efforts.

Her leadership will focus on strengthening talent acquisition frameworks, ensuring a steady pipeline of skilled professionals who can contribute to the company’s continued growth.

In addition to talent management, Vaishnavi will oversee employee engagement initiatives, aimed at fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.

Her role also involves driving leadership development programs, ensuring that Tata Communications retains and nurtures top talent across all levels.

She will work closely with executive leadership to implement HR policies that align with the company’s business goals, while also championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to create an inclusive workplace.

Vaishnavi’s responsibilities extend to leveraging data-driven insights and digital HR solutions to streamline workforce management, enhance employee experiences, and improve organizational efficiency.

Her appointment will enhance HR strategies, ensuring that Tata Communications remains at the forefront of workforce innovation and employer branding in the technology and telecommunications industry.

Career Journey and Industry Expertise

Before joining Tata Communications, Vaishnavi was associated with Comviva for over eight years, where she most recently served as Head HR.

During her tenure, she spearheaded HR strategies across diverse product portfolios, implementing employee engagement programs and talent management frameworks that drove growth and innovation across the company’s Gurgaon operations.

Prior to Comviva, she held the role of Head of Talent Management at HFCL, where she was instrumental in setting up the Talent Management function, aligning employee growth with business priorities.

Vaishnavi’s career also includes a significant tenure at Mahindra Comviva, where she led business HR for one of the most profitable units and implemented impactful initiatives in career development, engagement, and performance systems.

Additionally, she spent nearly five years at Hero MotoCorp, where she was responsible for performance management systems, training and organizational development, and large-scale engagement interventions.

Her early career involved critical roles in business planning, employee development, and training delivery, positioning her as a well-rounded HR leader with expertise across multiple industries.
