AkzoNobel India announces two leadership appointments

AkzoNobel India, a leading paints and coatings company made two organizational announcements that provide accelerated career growth opportunities for its Indian leadership, both in South-East South Asia (SESA) region and India.

Rohit Totla has been elevated to a regional leadership role as the new Commercial Excellence Director, Decorative Paints for the SESA region.

Further, Prasanth Chandrasekharan will take the baton as the new Sales Director for AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints in India from September 1, 2022.

Sharing an overview of how people are core to AkzoNobel’s purpose-driven culture, Oscar Wezenbeek, Managing Director, Decorative Paints, SESA said, “For AkzoNobel to achieve its ambitions, we need a leadership of high performers that is as diverse and inclusive as our customer base.”

“India being one of the fastest growing economies worldwide and a key growth market for AkzoNobel, I’m delighted to welcome Rohit Totla to drive commercial excellence for Decorative Paints in the entire SESA region”, Oscar Wezenbeek added.

Adding to this, Rajiv Rajgopal, Managing Director, AkzoNobel India said, “Rohit has made a tremendous contribution towards strengthening the brand Dulux in India and in his new regional role too, he shall continue to support India on the Grow & Deliver journey.”

“With Prasanth now moving from Automotive and Specialty Coatings to Decorative Paints, we continue to harness our people power to build a stronger AkzoNobel of tomorrow”, Rajiv Rajgopal added.

In his new role, Rohit will lead the development of Fit for Purpose initiatives around Go-to-Market models, drive strategic initiatives, helm pricing strategy, build sustainable data-driven processes to drive Decorative Paints commercial excellence across the 10 countries of the SESA region (India, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Papa New Guinea).

Rohit brings with him over two decades of sales and marketing experience. He joined AkzoNobel India in 2009 as a regional manager and was previously the sales director for AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints brand Dulux in India.

Prasanth Chandrasekharan appointed Sales Director – Decorative paints, AkzoNobel India 

In his new role as the sales director for AkzoNobel’s Decorative Paints business in India, Prasanth will be responsible to drive go-to-market strategies and enhance the competency of the sales team to deliver long-term sustainable growth of the decorative paints brand Dulux in India.

A consummate sales and marketing professional, Prasanth has close to three decades of automotive experience.

In his current role as the sales head for the Automotive and Specialty Coatings (ASC) business in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka; Prasanth drives the profitable growth for AkzoNobel’s marquee ASC brands – Sikkens and WANDA.
