Essar Power Limited, India’s pioneering private sector independent power producer, has appointed Ankur Kumar as the Chief Executive Officer of its Renewables Business Division.
This strategic move underscores Essar’s commitment to advancing its renewable energy initiatives and further solidifies its position in the sustainable energy landscape.
In this role, he will play a key role in advancing Essar’s commitment to transitioning into Green Energy and establishing a robust renewable ecosystem in India.

With over 24 years of extensive experience in Renewable Energy and Public Infrastructure sectors, Ankur Kumar brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Ankur, who formerly held the position of Chief Executive Officer at ACME Solar Holdings Pvt. Ltd., led the company’s strategic initiatives, notably expanding into green hydrogen and ammonia ventures.
Simultaneously, he bolstered the company’s presence across various geographical locations, marking a significant advancement in ACME’s trajectory under his leadership.
Ankur’s leadership tenure at TBEA Xinjiang Sunoasis Co. Limited further highlights his proficiency in achieving business objectives, fostering high-performance teams, and delivering projects within budget and timeline.
Ankur Kumar is a distinguished alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, where he obtained his MBA in Finance and Strategy. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree from Delhi University.
