Godrej Industries appoints Rakesh Swami as Group President & Head – Corporate Affairs

Godrej Industries Limited has appointed Rakesh Swami as the Group President & Head, Corporate Affairs with effect from 1st December 2022.

Rakesh comes with over 22 years of experience in corporate affairs, public policy, government and regulatory affairs, business advocacy, strategic planning, conflict management, corporate social responsibility, Public Private Partnership (PPP), and general administration.

Prior to joining Godrej, Rakesh was a part of Honeywell where he was heading government relations and was a core member of the India leadership team. He started his career with Reliance Industries and has also worked with Essar, Tata Motors, John Deere, and General Electric.

At Godrej, Rakesh will steer the corporate affairs function and will be responsible for leading Godrej group’s public policy and government relations efforts. He will help enable proactive business-centric advocacy with all relevant stakeholders.

Speaking on his appointment, he said, “Godrej has a rich legacy and it is truly humbling to be working for a group that has such a strong value system.”

“I feel privileged to join one of India’s largest, oldest, and most trusted conglomerates that has been serving the nation for 125 years”, he added.

Godrej Industries Ltd. is part of the Godrej group, one of the leading business groups in India, and is in the businesses of Oleochemicals, surfactants, finance & investments, and estate management.

It has substantial interests in several industries including property development, oil palm plantation, animal feeds and agri-products, poultry, personal care, and household care, etc., through its subsidiaries, associate companies, and joint ventures.
