Second India-born woman Priya Nair joins Unilever’s top team

Unilever has announced changes to its Unilever Leadership Executive. Priya Nair, currently Chief Marketing Officer of Beauty & Wellbeing, has been appointed President- Beauty & Wellbeing, effective from 1 January 2024.

She is replacing Fernando Fernandez who is elevated as Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed Business Group President, Beauty & Wellbeing, and a member of the Unilever Leadership Executive in April 2022.

Priya Nair is the second India-born woman who is inducted into Unilever’s top leadership team after Leena Nair, who recently left Unilever to become the global CEO of Chanel.

Hein Schumacher, CEO of Unilever said in a statement, “Priya represents part of an exceptional generation of Unilever leaders who combine world-class marketing skills with frontline experience. I am delighted they will join the ULE.”

Before her roles as Chief Marketing Officer of Beauty & Wellbeing, she was previously Hindustan Unilever’s executive director and executive vice president of the South Asia region for the beauty and personal care category.

Priya Nair, who has 28 years of experience, started her career with HUL as a consumer insights manager. She rose through the ranks to become brand manager and general manager handling brands like Dove, Rin, and Comfort.

Priya Nair is a native of Palakkad, and holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and a postgraduate MBA in Marketing from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management.
