Coronavirus global pandemic has affected every workplace, in one way or another. The employers have closed their doors temporarily due to lockdown and asked their employees to work from home, Companies have given extra paid or special paid leave or unpaid leave to employees with health concerns. While the worst of the coronavirus outbreak will (hopefully) be over soon, some of these changes to the workplace could be here to stay.

Here are few tweets from Industry HR veterans on COVID-19 Pandemic, and predictions when the crisis is over.

Workplaces are getting redefined. It will take a lot of healing to rebuild trust between the employers & employees.

Nathan SV @Nathansv

“Social distancing is not about social isolation. Emotional connect is the bridge that is about the meeting of the heart beyond the meeting of the minds.”

Prabir Jha @PrabirJha

“Downsizing is going to happen, that is for sure, across levels and across sectors. I don’t think employers will have a choice. We really don’t know in what way or how badly the cookie will crumble, but the cookie will surely crumble.”

Marshall Goldsmith @coachgoldsmith

“Self-Confidence: When faced with a situation where you’re not sure of a higher-ups trust in you, maintaining and displaying your self-confidence is a key.”

Leena Nair @LeenaNairHR

“There is something powerful about naming this as grief. It helps us feel what’s inside of us… When you name it, you feel it and it moves through you. Emotions need motion. It’s important we acknowledge what we go through.”

Rajkamal Vempati @RajkamalVempati

“Work-from-home is here to stay. For a bank, functions such as customer service roles, phone banking, HR, corporate office functions, which do not require meeting customers, could be the ones to be first considered for remote working. Nearly 20-30% of the people can work virtually going ahead.”
