The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) said, “EPF members should know that they can change the existing EPF nominee and file a new nomination. A new EPF nomination will override the previous nomination and the latest EPF/EPS nomination will be considered as final one.”
A tweet by EPFO said, “#EPF Members can file new nomination to change existing EPF/#EPS nominations.”

To do this, follow some simple steps to add an EPF nominee or to change the existing one with a new nominee.
1. Visit the official EPFO website at epfindia.gov.in.
2. Then choose the ‘ Service’ option. Choose the ‘For Employees’ option.
3. Click on ‘Member UAN/ Online Service (OCS/OTP)
4. Then login with UAN and password
5. Now, select ‘E-nomination’ under ‘ Manage Tab’
6. Next ‘Provide Details’ tab will appear on screen and one has to click on ‘Save’
7. Click on ‘Yes’ to update family declaration
8. Click ‘Add Family Details’. It has to be noted that more than one nominee can be added
9. Now, Click ‘Nomination Details’ to declare the total amount of share.
10. Then click on ‘Save EPF Nomination’
11. Finally, Click on ‘E-sign’ to generate OTP and submit the OTP on mobile number linked with Aadhaar
The benefits of filing e-nomination online are:
1) Helps in getting provident fund (PF).
2) Employee pension scheme (EPS) and Employees Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) benefits easily in case of the death of the member.
3) It also facilitates the nominee to file online claims.
The EPFO members can login to the official website of EPFO at epfindia.gov.in for any queries and doubts.
