HCA Healthcare, a leading U.S.-based hospital operator, has announced plans to expand its workforce in India by hiring 3,000 employees by the end of 2026.

The announcement coincides with the inauguration of its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The centre, located in HITEC City, will serve as a strategic hub for driving innovation and operational excellence across HCA Healthcare’s global operations, which span 192 hospitals and 2,500 ambulatory care sites in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Hyderabad GCC marks a significant milestone in HCA Healthcare’s international footprint and reflects the company’s long-term commitment to leveraging India’s skilled talent pool for healthcare support services.

$75 Million Investment to Support HCA Healthcare India Expansion

HCA Healthcare plans to invest approximately $75 million in its India operations by the end of 2025.

The investment will support infrastructure development, talent acquisition, and digital transformation initiatives.

The Hyderabad facility, spread across more than 400,000 square feet, will employ 1,300 people by the end of 2025, with the workforce growing to 3,000 by the close of 2026.

The company will recruit across multiple business functions, including information technology, supply chain management, procurement, human resources, finance, and accounting.

HCA Healthcare designed these roles to support its mission of delivering high-quality patient care and improving operational efficiency across its network.

Strategic Role in Global Operations

The Hyderabad GCC will play a critical role in supporting HCA Healthcare’s clinical and administrative operations.

Emily Duncan is the Senior Vice President of the Global Capability Network at HCA Healthcare.

She stated that the centre builds on a foundation of innovation and collaboration.

“With exceptional talent and a culture built on innovation, we are focused on creating an environment that further enables HCA Healthcare to pursue its mission to care for and improve human life,” Emily said.

Atul Kapoor is the Vice President and Hyderabad Centre Head.

He emphasized the centre’s role in scaling capabilities that support hospitals and care teams around the world.

“Together, we are committed to advancing our purpose: to give people a healthier tomorrow,” he added.

Telangana Government Welcomes Investment

Telangana’s Minister for Information Technology and Industries, D. Sridhar Babu, formally inaugurated the GCC.

He highlighted Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a global hub for healthcare and life sciences.

He cited the presence of over 800 pharmaceutical companies and a strong ecosystem for research and innovation.

“Hyderabad is the gateway to a complete global ecosystem of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences,” said Sridhar Babu.

“The presence of leading global life sciences GCCs driving R&D and innovation makes Telangana one of the finest healthcare infrastructure regions in the world”.
