Q2 Results & Hiring Trends at Infosys

IT giant reported a 4.7% year-on-year (YoY) increase in net profit to ₹6,506 crore for Q2FY25, falling short of market estimates. Sequentially, net profit grew by 2.2%. Revenue for the quarter rose to ₹40,986 crore, marking a 5.1% YoY growth and a 4.2% sequential increase.

The IT major recorded a net addition of 2,456 employees during the July-September 2024 quarter, reversing a trend of six consecutive quarters of workforce reductions. This brings Infosys’ total headcount to 317,788, up from 315,332 in the previous quarter.

Attrition rose slightly to 12.9% in Q2FY25, compared to 12.7% in Q1FY25. Looking ahead, Infosys plans to hire 15,000-20,000 freshers in FY25, signaling a focus on talent acquisition and future growth.

While the results reflect steady progress, the company aims to strengthen its workforce and sustain its market leadership amidst a dynamic business environment.
