Thales, a global leader in advanced technologies for Defence, Aerospace, and Cyber & Digital, has announced plans to recruit 8,000 employees worldwide in 2025.

This ambitious hiring initiative is aimed at supporting the company’s robust growth across its three business segments.

With a focus on engineering and industrial roles, Thales is also accelerating its “Learning Company” programme to enhance professional development and maintain its expertise at the highest level.

Thales Recruitment Drive: Key Details

Thales’s recruitment strategy for 2025 is designed to address the increasing demand for skilled professionals in engineering and industrial roles.

Approximately 40% of the new hires will join engineering positions, including software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.

Another 25% will be allocated to industrial roles, such as technicians, operators, and industrial engineers.

The recruitment will span across all regions where Thales operates, with significant hiring planned in:

  • France: 3,000 positions
  • United Kingdom: Over 1,000 positions
  • Netherlands: 500 positions
  • United States: 400 positions
  • Australia: 400 positions
  • India: 250 positions
  • Germany: 200 positions
  • Africa and the Middle East: 150 positions

Interested candidates can explore opportunities and apply online at Thales Careers.

In addition to external hiring, Thales will facilitate internal mobility for over 4,000 employees, enabling functional and geographical transitions to align with career aspirations and organizational needs.

Growth Momentum and Historical Achievements

Thales’s recruitment plans build on the strong momentum established in recent years.

Between 2022 and 2024, the company onboarded over 30,000 employees, including 9,000 in the Defence sector.

During the same period, Thales facilitated over 8,000 internal mobility moves, showcasing its commitment to employee growth and development.

For the past decade, Thales has consistently hired at least 5,000 employees annually, reflecting its sustained growth and expansion across global markets.

The company’s ability to attract top talent is a testament to its reputation as a leader in advanced technologies.

The ‘Learning Company’ Programme: Empowering Employees

Thales’s “Learning Company” programme is a cornerstone of its workforce development strategy.

Launched three years ago, the programme focuses on upskilling employees and fostering knowledge-sharing through innovative methods. Key highlights include:

  • Academies: Thales operates 13 Domain Academies (AI, Cybersecurity, Radar, Naval, etc.) and 18 Functional Academies (Software, Hardware, Systems, HR, Finance, etc.). By the end of 2025, the number of academies will exceed 35.
  • Innovative Training Methods: The programme incorporates simulation and virtual reality tools, hands-on training solutions, and a shared competency management system.
  • Participation: In 2024, 90% of Thales’s global workforce—72,000 employees—engaged in skills development activities.

Thales Commitment to Inclusion and Diversity

Thales is dedicated to promoting inclusion and diversity across its workforce.

In 2024, women accounted for 30% of new hires, and more than 60% of the company’s executive committees included at least four women.

Thales aims to increase this figure to 75% by 2026.

The company has also signed a new Group-wide agreement to enhance the inclusion of people with disabilities, achieving an employment rate of nearly 7% in France.

Additionally, Thales engaged with over 150,000 young people globally in 2024 through outreach programmes and hosted more than 600 events to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals.
