Avery Dennison launches programs to support its employees & society in the pandemic

Avery Dennison, the global materials science and manufacturing company, has introduced a series of initiatives to support its employees and local communities.

Highlighting the company’s employee welfare initiatives, Manvi Sushil, Director HR, Avery Dennison India said, “As India rallies to manage one of the biggest crises in our times, we, at Avery Dennison, continue to be committed towards the welfare of our employees and their families.”

In these tough times, the agility and solidarity demonstrated by the teams have been a true testament of the core belief of being not just colleagues but a family – The Avery Dennison Family. We continue to relentlessly care for and nurture our people and fight the COVID-19 battle head-on.” She said

Following their strong values, Avery Dennison has undertaken several initiatives for employees well being. Some of these initiatives include insurance cover for home isolation treatment and hotel quarantine for self and dependants, OPD insurance for consultation and diagnostic tests, awareness sessions by COVID-19 specialists, on-call ambulance helpline, tie-ups for home care package and home ICU set up and oxygen concentrator support on call.

The organization also formulated an employee volunteer support group “The Good Samaritans” which is managing a remote COVID war room to support the employees 24×7.

The relentless efforts of the resource group helped in supporting impacted employees and their families through everyday health check-ins, providing validated information on hospital beds availability, making oxygen concentrators available on time and providing other critical health-related assistance. 

In addition to ensuring welfare of its employees, Avery Dennison is truly committed towards making a difference to local communities by supporting and assisting in various social impact programs during this pandemic.

Commenting on these initiatives Pankaj Bhardwaj, Vice President & General Manager- Avery Dennison India said, “At Avery Dennison, we always strive to make a difference in the communities around us. And with our country battling these unprecedented times, we are fully committed to help the nation in fighting COVID-19 pandemic and reducing its impact by effectively extending our support to the society with a series of social impact programmes.”

The company has donated infrastructural and medical support items such as hospital beds, oxygen concentrators and ventilators to various authorities and medical institutions to support the scale up of medical infrastructure & rural medical needs in and around nearby areas to Avery Dennison site locations in Greater Noida, Gurgaon & Pune.

Additionally, Avery Dennison is also funding projects to support the ongoing COVID-19 relief work by Gurgaon administration by coming up with a hospital extension & building an oxygen plant at a reputed hospital and by opening a medical health centre in Koregaon, Pune for COVID relief measures.

Apart from this, Avery Dennison, since the start of COVID-19, has been an active contributor in distribution of essential PPE gear (masks, sanitizers, gloves) and meal distribution to the local communities and rural areas around its various site locations which include Pune, Bangalore, Gurgaon & Kolkata.

Thereby, staying true to its commitment to make a difference to the communities.
