CM Ashok Gehlot read Old Budget speech for 7 mints in Assembly

In the recent Rajasthan Budget 2023, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot read the old budget speech for 7 minutes inside Assembly.

The CM was interrupted by Congress minister Mahesh Joshi and was stopped for reading the budget. Due to this incident, The Assembly got adjourned for 30 minutes after this incident occurred. 

The incident faced a bit of criticism. However, The Speaker of the house CP Joshi, later said it was an unfortunate and honest human error; later it was rectified. The chief minister said, “I am feeling sorry. An extra page was added by mistake. It was human error.”

Satish Poonia shared a tweet from the official Twitter handle saying, “मुख्यमंत्री जी ने पुराना बजट पढ़ा… राजस्थान में अब बजट भी लीक… #सच_तो_ये_है #Rajasthan

Vasundhara Raje, a BJP leader and former chief minister of Rajasthan, criticised Gehlot for the error and stated, “When I was the CM, I used to repeatedly check and read before presenting the budget.”

“You can imagine how safe the state is in the hands of a CM who reads out an old budget”, Vasundhara Raje added.

According to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s Rajasthan Budget 2023, a few key highlighting are as under:-

  1. There are no new taxes announced in this year’s Rajasthan Budget 2023.
  2. The government has announced an inflation relief package of Rs 19,000 crore in the state’s Budget for 2023-24. This will provide relief to the masses from rising prices.
  3. Additionally, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced the enactment of the Gig Workers Welfare Act. The establishment of a board and a welfare fund of Rs 200 crore in his government’s Budget for 2023-24.
  4. The budget has also announced old pension scheme for personnel of various boards and corporations. The benefit of the scheme will be granted to personnel of boards, corporations, academies, and universities.
