Global logistics leader DHL Group has inaugurated its fifth IT Services (ITS) centre in India, located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The new facility marks a significant step in the company’s long-term strategy to build a robust digital backbone and tap into emerging talent pools across second-tier cities.

Indore joins Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai as part of DHL ITS India’s growing network.

The Indore centre is not only a hub for global technology operations but also serves as DHL ITS’ first dedicated technology training academy in the country.

The facility has already onboarded 100 employees and is expected to scale further in the coming months.

A Hub for Innovation and Skill Development by DHL Group

The centre will support DHL’s global logistics operations by delivering secure, scalable, and resilient IT solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.

It will also play a key role in training employees in digital technologies, automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and leadership.

Supriya Rao Patwardhan, Executive Vice President and Global Head of IT Services at DHL Group, emphasized the strategic importance of India in the company’s digital transformation journey.

“Digitalisation is one of the five megatrends guiding our Strategy 2030, and India is central to building the digital backbone of our business,” she said.

Over the past 18 months, DHL ITS India has expanded rapidly, establishing five centres and growing its workforce to over 1,300 digital and logistics experts.

The Indore facility is expected to further strengthen this momentum by fostering innovation and enhancing operational capabilities.

Why Indore?

DHL’s decision to establish a centre in Indore was driven by the city’s thriving academic ecosystem, high talent retention rates, and growing reputation as a technology hub.

Indore is home to several prestigious educational institutions.

DHL plans to collaborate with them to align curricula with industry needs and create pathways for students to join the company.

Johan Berghs, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Digital Solutions and Head of ITS India, noted, “We are proud to be the first major international logistics player to establish a centre in Indore. This move allows us to expand into second-tier cities and tap into a vibrant new talent pool”.

DHL ITS India currently partners with more than 15 technology firms. It has also piloted five academic collaborations to support skill development and curriculum enhancement.

Strengthening India’s Role in DHL’s Global Strategy

The launch of the Indore centre underscores DHL Group’s commitment to India as a strategic technology and innovation partner.

The company has consistently invested in expanding its operations. It has also upgraded facilities to meet growing customer demand and support global projects.

DHL IT Services employs nearly 6,000 professionals worldwide.

It relies on its India centres to deliver advanced digital solutions that boost productivity and enhance customer experience.

DHL is continuing to scale its digital capabilities globally.
