The labour department has received numerous emails from former employees of Byju’s, stating that they have not yet received their full and final settlements despite several months having passed since their termination.

These ex-employees have raised concerns about the delay, expressing their frustration and financial difficulties due to the pending payments.

The situation has prompted further scrutiny and calls for action from the relevant authorities to ensure that Byju’s fulfills its obligations to its former staff.

The labour department is now looking into these complaints to address and resolve the issue promptly. Karnataka Labour Minister has asked Byju’s company to clear all the salaries of former employees.

As reported by Money Control, Following the meeting with Byju’s representatives at Vikasa Soudha in Bengaluru, Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh Lad said, “I have instructed them to settle at least 50% of the dues owed to former employees at the earliest, with the remaining 50% to be paid in due course.”

“They have informed us that their funds are in an escrow account with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and a hearing of the case is scheduled on July 4. Following this, they will provide us with an update on the action taken to clear the dues”, Santosh Lad added.

“Around 160 to 200 employees had approached the labour department, with total outstanding dues amounting to around Rs 4.5 crore. Few employees have approached us in person, while most have sent emails to our department”, he added.
