Kyndryl, a leading provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, today announced that it is opening an AI Innovation Lab in Bengaluru to expand its AI-based consulting services. The Lab will bring together data scientists, consultants, and technology professionals to work side by side with businesses.

The goal is to help companies adopt AI, software, and platform engineering solutions in a practical way. This Lab is similar to Kyndryl’s existing AI labs in the UK and Singapore and will focus on hiring and training professionals in AI and related fields such as data, cloud, applications, and platform engineering.

The new Bengaluru Lab aligns with the INDIAai Mission, which focuses on building AI solutions that support digital infrastructure, governance, and economic competitiveness. Kyndryl plans to use the Lab to create high-impact projects in areas such as governance, critical infrastructure, and cyber resilience.

These efforts will be presented at the AI Impact Summit in February 2026, hosted by the Government of India. At the event, Kyndryl will showcase its award-winning AI platform, Kyndryl Bridge, which is known worldwide for driving efficiency at scale.

Working closely with the Government of India

Kyndryl is strengthening its collaboration with the Government of India to promote AI in governance. As part of this, the company is signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

The agreement focuses on the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) initiative, where Kyndryl will demonstrate how its AI platform, including Kyndryl Bridge and agentic AI capabilities, can be applied to regulatory reform in India.

Focus on talent and skills development

Kyndryl is also investing in talent development to meet the rising demand for digital skills across India. The company continues to train its employees in AI, cybersecurity, and other advanced technologies, ensuring that its teams are equipped to lead in today’s digital world.

In addition, Kyndryl plans to expand into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, tapping into new talent pools and strengthening regional innovation ecosystems. The company will also partner with universities and research institutes to launch a new early career program, providing opportunities for graduates to gain practical experience in emerging technologies.

Recent research from Kyndryl shows that India is ahead in AI workforce readiness, with 37% of business leaders confident their teams are prepared to adopt AI, compared to the global average of 29%. AI adoption in India is accelerating across business functions, with 72% of leaders emphasizing the importance of upskilling and workforce training.

Social impact at scale

Kyndryl is extending its efforts beyond business by supporting social programs that promote digital inclusion. Through the Kyndryl Foundation, the company is working to train 200,000 people across India in high-demand digital skills.

A key part of this effort is the Kyndryl Skilling program, which offers courses in DevSecOps, Cloud Operations, and Resilient Systems. The program will be available through the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) portal, giving students and professionals access to advanced training.

Additionally, the Kyndryl Foundation has supported the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) in setting up a modern training facility in Mumbai. This center focuses on building cybersecurity skills and creating job opportunities for underserved youth, reinforcing Kyndryl’s commitment to making technology accessible to more people.
