Meet Milind Lakkad, EVP and CHRO Tata Consultancy Services

Milind Lakkad’s journey to becoming Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and leadership in the field of human resources.

With over three decades of experience, Lakkad has established himself as a prominent figure in HR management, driving organizational success through strategic talent initiatives and innovative people practices.

Lakkad’s career trajectory began with humble roots and a strong academic foundation. Currently, he is working as Executive Vice President and CHRO at TCS since May 2019.

As CHRO, Milind Lakkad is dedicated to reinforcing TCS’s high-performance culture and fostering a purpose-driven, globally connected learning organization.

His people strategy prioritizes the well-being of TCS’s diverse 600K+ workforce through initiatives centered on learning, employee experience, social collaboration, and work-life balance, emphasizing lifelong learning and employee happiness.

Previously, he led the Global Manufacturing Business Group from 2007 to 2019. With 17 years on the TCS management team, he brings extensive experience and leadership to the organization.

As head of the Manufacturing Business Group, Milind Lakkad oversaw global customer relationships in Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Aerospace, and Process Manufacturing.

Under his leadership, the group bolstered its presence across the manufacturing value chain, solidifying its leadership in Product Development, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Analytics domains.

Milind Lakkad earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from REC Calicut (now NIT) in 1985, followed by a Master’s in Design Engineering from IIT Mumbai in 1986.

Milind Lakkad’s journey within TCS exemplifies the company’s culture of meritocracy, innovation, and leadership development. His transition from leading a key business vertical to assuming the role of CHRO underscores his versatility, adaptability, and readiness to take on new challenges.
