Reliance Industries announces COVID-19 bereavement support

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) announces COVID-19 bereavement support to the families of employees who lost their lives due to the COVID-19. The company’s support will help the families to rebuild their lives.

RIL COVID-19 bereavement support includes:

  • Financial Aid: RIL will pay the last-drawn salary to the deceased employee’s family for the next 05 years.
  • One Time Payout to Off-Role Workers- The nominee of any RIL off-roll workforce member dying of Covid-19 would get a lump sum payment of Rs 10 lakh.
  • Education: All expenses that include tuition, books, and hostel accommodation for all children of the deceased employees till their graduation at any institute in India.
  • Medical Insurance of Family Members: 100% insurance premium tariffs for hospitalization coverage of the deceased employee’s spouse, parents, and children until graduation.

According to ET report, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Neeta Ambani said that the company, India’s biggest by value, will honour the promise of “one Reliance family” by supporting them.

“Even though these times may seem very bleak, always remember that you are not alone and the entire institution of Reliance stands with each one of you and your family,” Ambanis said in the letter.

“Dear colleague… We have come together thus far for precisely on the strength of our solidarity as One Team and with the Ownership Mindset that will keep this adversity until we win,” the statement added.

In addition to the above COVID-19 bereavement support, RIL has also announced that employees suffering from Covid-19, or caring for a family member can go on special leave for the full duration of their recovery; both emotional and physical.

Moreover, Reliance Industries (RIL) has rolled out Employee Vaccination Drive, for this, the company signed contracts for sourcing vaccines from Bharat Biotech and Serum Institute for potentially 1.3 million persons, which includes its own employees as well as those of its partners.
