Swiss Bank UBS to Boost Hyderabad Workforce with 1,800 Jobs

Swiss banking giant UBS has announced plans to significantly expand its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, aiming to create an additional 1,800 jobs over the next two years.

This move is part of UBS’s strategy to strengthen its finance and operations functions by leveraging the high-quality talent pool available in the city.

UBS GCC in Hyderabad: Expansion Plans

The announcement was made by Harald Egger, UBS India Chairman and Head of Group Real Estate and Supply Chain, following a meeting with Telangana IT & Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

Herald highlighted that Hyderabad offers the best talent pool and world-class infrastructure.

Additionally, he mentioned that the city’s innovation ecosystem is actively fostered by supportive government policies.

The expansion will primarily focus on beefing up UBS’s finance and operations functions.

Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized that the expansion of UBS operations in Hyderabad reflects the confidence global businesses have in the city’s infrastructure.

He added that Telangana’s IT exports have surpassed $30 billion. The growth of GCCs in Hyderabad is creating new avenues for employment and driving the digital economy.

Company’s Vision and Strategy

Herald emphasized that the city’s strengths drive UBS’s decision to double its presence in Hyderabad.

These strengths will help the company drive its growth and contribute to the evolving economic landscape of the region.

He also mentioned that the expansion aligns with the state government’s vision of fostering long-term economic growth.

Additionally, it aims to position Telangana as a global leader in IT and business services.

The company will spread the new roles across various functions, including finance, operations, engineering, data management, and sales.

UBS aims to attract top-tier talent to support its growth and innovation initiatives.
