Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services company, is preparing to commence operations at its new Delivery Centre (DC) in Visakhapatnam from September 2025.

The centre will initially function from a rented office space at Millennium Towers A and B, located on Rushikonda Hill No. 3. With an initial investment of ₹80 crore, the facility will accommodate 2,000 employees in its first phase.

The Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 2,08,280 sq. ft of office space to TCS, with around 75% of infrastructure and interior works already completed.

Officials confirmed that the remaining work is expected to be finished by September 20, 2025. The lease rate has been fixed at ₹29 per sq. ft per month, amounting to about ₹60.4 lakh monthly.

Move Towards Permanent Campus

While TCS begins operations from the Millennium Towers, the company is also laying groundwork for a permanent campus in the city. The government allotted 21.16 acres at IT Hill No. 3 for a nominal rate of ₹0.99 paise in April 2025.

This permanent facility, set to attract an investment of ₹1,370 crore, is expected to provide employment opportunities to nearly 12,000 people once fully operational.

The government had earlier announced the proposal for the TCS Delivery Centre on January 3, 2025, directing the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (APIIC) to provide office space on concessional rent under the State’s Industrial Development Policy (IDP) 4.0 (2024–29).

Government and VSEZ Role

A senior official from the Andhra Pradesh government confirmed that efforts are underway to ensure TCS operations begin in the fourth week of September. “We have set September 20 as the formal deadline to complete all infrastructure and interior works,” the official said.

Additionally, the government has written to the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ), Duvvada, seeking denotification of the 21.16 acres of land allotted to TCS, so that it can be converted into a non-SEZ area with approval from the Centre.

A VSEZ official confirmed receipt of the request and noted that the matter is under process.

Boost to Andhra Pradesh IT Sector

The state government views TCS as a vital anchor company for its growing IT ecosystem. Officials highlighted that Vizag has emerged as a hub for IT development owing to its strategic location, connectivity, and infrastructure.

The State’s IT sector is projected to generate five lakh new jobs by 2029, with TCS playing a key role in driving this transformation.
