Tech Companies are investing in employees on AI training, projects

The leading IT Companies including IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, Oracle, and IBM are investing in employee training for AI-specific roles.

IBM announced an expansion of its relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help more mutual clients operationalize and derive value from the latest technologies, including generative artificial intelligence (AI).

As part of this, the company has launched the Innovation Lab, in collaboration with AWS, at the IBM Client Experience Center in Bangalore.

The lab is a first-of-its-kind collaboration and is open to clients from around the world to explore joint IBM-AWS solutions and test prototypes and proofs of value that aim to help accelerate innovation across industries such as Banking and Financial Services, Automotive, Manufacturing, Energy and Utilities, Travel and Transportation, and Healthcare, among others.

IBM Consulting plans to train and skill 10,000 consultants on AWS generative AI services by the end of 2024. They will have access to an exclusive, partner-only program that provides training on the top use cases and best practices for client engagement with AWS generative AI services.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its AWS generative AI practice, to help customers harness the full potential of AI and AWS generative AI services to transform different parts of their value chain and achieve superior business outcomes.

TCS has invested in foundation training of over 100,000 employees on generative AI. It is now focused on deepening its expertise further, including certification of over 25,000 employees on AWS generative AI services.

Infosys has also trained 57,000 employees in generative AI. Peter Bendor-Samuel, CEO, of Everest Group, said, “We expect that 90% of the POCs (pilots) started in 2023 will not make it to production in 2024. 

Oracle that the company will train 50,000 Saudi Nationals in Artificial Intelligence and Other Latest Digital Technologies.

The company has launched ‘Mostaqbali’ (My Future), an initiative to provide technical training to Saudi youth to equip them for the most in-demand technology-powered jobs of the future.

Wipro Limited had announced the launch of Wipro ai360a comprehensive, AI-first innovation ecosystem that builds on Wipro’s decade-long investments in artificial intelligence. The company also committed to making a $1 billion investment in advancing AI capabilities over the next three years.

With responsible AI at its core, Wipro ai360 will bring together the 30,000 Wipro experts in data analytics and AI with Wipro’s technology and advisory ecosystem from four global business lines.

Oracle’s new program will train and certify 50,000 Saudi nationals in the latest cloud-powered digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT) by 2027.

The Mostaqbali program will be delivered as a digital learning experience through Oracle MyLearn, Oracle’s comprehensive training and enablement platform from Oracle University used by thousands of technology trainees around the world.

Deloitte India announced the launch of its Generative AI practice, to equip and empower its clients with strategic innovations, talent, and a collaborative alliance ecosystem, enabling them to navigate the dynamic and converging digital landscape.

In a recent study conducted by Deloitte on the â€˜State of AI in India’, it was revealed that an impressive 88% of respondents are planning to increase their AI investments year-on-year. Furthermore, nearly half of the participants reported achieving quicker-than-expected returns on their AI investments in the current year.

Romal Shetty, Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte South Asia, was excited to launch the Generative AI practice and highlighted “its potential to revolutionize products, business models, and work processes. It is a technology with unprecedented opportunities as a result of its contextual awareness and human-like decision-making capabilities.”
