Tech Mahindra signs MoU with Gujarat, plans to hire 3000 people

An Indian multinational information technology services and consulting company, Tech Mahindra has announced that the company will be hiring 3,000 people in Gujarat over the period of the next five years.

The company on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat under its IT/ITeS (IT-enabled services) policy.

The company’s managing director and chief executive C P Gurnani said, “Through this agreement, the company will enable to address the changing engineering needs of enterprises.”

Bhupendrabhai Patel, chief minister of Gujarat said, “The Government is committed to supporting businesses to improve the ease of doing business (EODB) in the state.”

“In line with this, the MoU with Tech Mahindra will not only help us enable the same but also result in the overall development of the city,” Bhupendrabhai Patel added.

C P Gurnani, managing director and chief executive officer, Tech Mahindra said, “The MoU with the Government of Gujarat will enable us to address the changing engineering needs of enterprises today and help us in our quest to deliver state-of-the-art digital engineering services.”  

An official statement said the government has so far signed 15 MoUs with domestic and global companies. However, the company’s current staff strength in Gujarat could not be immediately ascertained.

These MoUs are signed under the IT/ITeS policy which will generate nearly 26,750 skilled IT employment opportunities in the state.
