India’s leading IT service provider company, Wipro has announced to hire 17000 fresher this year from campus.

Earlier the company was aiming to hire over 12000 candidates this year but due to the rise in demand for Engineers in the IT industry the company has increased the target numbers for freshers hiring this year.

Wipro’s Chief Financial Officer Jatin Dalal said, “The IT company will hire 16,000 to 17,000 freshers in the current financial year as against its previous estimates of 12,000 freshers.”

“The company hired a record number of 8,100 freshers in the June-September quarter. It said that it’s in a position to hire 25,000 people in the next financial year.” Jatin added.

In the second quarter, the company reported a sharp rise in the attrition rate at 20.5 per cent from 15.5 per cent in the last quarter as the demand for IT professionals increased.

Saurabh Govil, Global HR Head, Wipro said, “We will hire 30,000 freshers from the campus for the next financial year 2022-23. The company will hire over 17,000 freshers in the current financial year, which is 33 per cent more than last year. This is in a bid to address rising attrition and build the supply chain, even as the demand remains robust.”

TCS also announced to hire 77000 freshers this year. Infosys plans to hire 45,000 college graduates this fiscal as compared to the earlier target of 35,000.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be hiring a record 77,000 freshers in the financial year 2022, due to strong demand for tech talent, the company’s chief human resources officer, Milind Lakkad said. Initially, it planned to hire 40,000 freshers.
