In association with AICTE, Nagar Palika Parishad Jalalabad, Shahjahanpur, has announced a full-time internship under the Solid Waste Management program supported by Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban).
This 12-month internship provides selected candidates with practical experience in waste management operations across the city’s 25 wards.
About Internship
This opportunity is designed for recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in city-level sanitation and waste control. Interns will work directly on live government projects, assist with day-to-day operations, and take part in ongoing field activities.
The work will include setting up Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs), managing government reports, and helping with Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities aimed at public awareness.
The selected candidate will receive a monthly stipend of ₹28,000. The role offers close involvement with municipal operations, making it a solid starting point for those looking to work in public service or environmental management. It also includes exposure to digital tracking and documentation as part of the city’s project monitoring system.
The internship begins immediately, and applications are open until August 11, 2025. Only one position is available, making this a competitive opportunity for qualified individuals.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have completed their education in one of the following fields:
- BA, BCA, BSc (Hons), BCom
- Specialization in English, Hindi, Social Sciences, Sociology, Chemistry, Mathematical Science, Physics, or related fields
They must also:
- Be available full-time for 12 months
- Have a clear interest and background that fits the work
- Be ready for fieldwork and engagement with the public
Terms of Engagement
The internship will follow the rules set in the TULIP Handbook and official TULIP Guidelines issued by the government.
