The Sangli Miraj Kupwad City Municipal Corporation (SMKCMC), Maharashtra, has announced an Internship for Civil Engineers under the Urban Learning Internship Program (TULIP).

This initiative offers young engineering graduates a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in urban infrastructure projects and municipal operations.

The full-time engagement will begin immediately after selection, with a duration of 12 months. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 and will earn 10 credits upon successful completion of the program.

The application deadline is 15 August 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Only candidates who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply:

  • Hold a B.Tech / B.E. degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Have a specialization in Civil Engineering.
  • Are available to commit for the entire 12-month duration.
  • Possess relevant skills and a genuine interest in working in the urban development sector.
  • Number of Positions: 5

About the Program

The engagement aims to provide practical exposure to civil engineering graduates in the planning, execution, and maintenance of municipal infrastructure.

Interns will work closely with the engineering teams of SMKCMC on projects such as road construction, water supply systems, drainage, public buildings, and urban development initiatives.

The experience will not only help participants develop their technical knowledge but also enhance their understanding of municipal governance, project management, and community service delivery in an urban setting.

Terms of Engagement

The internship will follow the TULIP Handbook and Guidelines, which outline the objectives, responsibilities, and code of conduct for participants.

The TULIP program, an initiative by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) in collaboration with AICTE, is designed to match fresh graduates with opportunities in urban local bodies to foster skill development and bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit their applications before the 15 August 2025 deadline. The selection process will involve screening based on educational qualifications, skills, and relevance to the role.

This initiative aligns with SMKCMC’s commitment to building a pipeline of skilled professionals capable of contributing to sustainable urban growth.

By joining this program, young civil engineers can make a tangible impact on city infrastructure while building a strong professional foundation for their careers.

For more information on terms, conditions, and the application process, candidates are advised to visit the official AICTE portal and the SMKCMC notifications to apply.
