Accenture has paid bonuses and given promotions to a large section of its employees

The time when several industries have deferred or suspended pay hikes and promotions, IT and professional services company Accenture has paid bonuses and given promotions to a large section of its employees.

According to an ET report, the payouts have been made over the past few weeks to more than half its 2,00,000 employees in India across technology and business process management centres.

“As part of our compensation programs, we have recognized a number of our people with bonuses and promotions,” an Accenture spokesperson said to media.

Though, Accenture did not clarify that how many people benefited from the bonus payout.

Accenture is one of the largest employers in the IT sector, hiring an average of about 2,500 people every month in India in the last one year. The company has currently about 200,000 people in India.

“Accenture in India is honouring all offers made so far, and associated benefits are effective from the date of joining,” said Lakshmi C, managing director and lead, human resources, Accenture India.
