Cognizant restructures leadership team to focus on growth

The American IT multinational, Cognizant Technologies Solutions Corporation is strengthening its leadership team to accelerate growth. With the companies bumping up IT spends, Cognizant is planning to tap the IT services market.

The company is restructuring its leadership team with a mix of internal promotions and external hires. The company is aiming for growth with this restructuring. In an interview, Cognizant CEO Brian Humphries said, “We are focused on returning Cognizant to IT services industry bellwether status. To achieve this, we need a combination of long-time Cognizant veterans along with newcomers who bring fresh perspectives to our business.”

Last week, the company appointed Rajesh Nambiar as the chairman and managing director (CMD) for India and member of the executive committee. He will join from November 9th. On-boarding of Nambiar will help Cognizant to increase focus on India. He replaces Ramakumar Ramamoorthy, who has left the company in July.

Ursula Morgenstern will now take over as the President of Global Growth Markets from January 2021. Adrian Jones will join as the Managing Director (MD) for the Asia Pacific and Japan. The IT firm has hired Anil Cheriyan as the executive VP of Strategy and Technology and Andy Stafford to head the global delivery.

Cognizant CEO further added, “We are making bold moves to supercharge our talent and have invested considerable time and thought over the past 18 months in building and nurturing our executive committee. The team now in place can drive a company of Cognizant’s scale and complexity to higher levels of growth in our intensely competitive technology services industry.”
