Infosys brings back over 200 employees from the United States

The Bengaluru-based, India’s second-largest IT services company Infosys brings back over 200 employees and their families in a chartered flight from the United States as a safety measure amid surging cases of COVID-19 and Lockdown.

The company’s chartered flight took off from San Francisco bringing about 200 employees and families to Bengaluru on Monday. Samir Gosavi, AVP- Retail, CPG and Logistics of Infosys, wrote on a LinkedIn post.

However, the IT firm did not share more details with the media but confirmed that a flight was organized to get Infosys employees and their families to India.

In March after international flights were suspended following the virus outbreak, many employees of Indian IT services companies such as Infosys, HCL Tech, Wipro and Tech Mahindra have been stranded.

Some of these employees faced hardships onsite as their projects were deferred or cancelled due to the pandemic-induced slowdown in business.

someone of them lost their family member, parents are not keeping well and they are sole caretakers, a few have other critical personal reasons, etc.
