Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said it would recruit 40,000 trainees from campuses in the Financial year 2021-2022

India’s biggest IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on January 8 reported higher Q3 (December-quarter) profit and predicted stronger growth ahead, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Announcing the Q3 results, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said it would recruit 40,000 trainees from campuses in the Financial year 2021-2022, after the firm reported its strongest results in the last nine years for the quarter ending December 2020.
V Ramakrishnan, CFO, TCS said, “Trainees from the campuses, I think we will do the same type of numbers as we did in the current year (FY21). We had about roughly 40,000 and next year also we will have some similar number.” He also added, “Experienced professionals are completely dependent on requirements and based on-demand environment. But we are definitely optimistic about the momentum.”
According to the Q3 results press conference, India’s second-biggest IT major Infosys is looking at double-digit growth at the back of large deal wins and demand for digital in FY22 and plans to hire 24,000 freshers from campuses in the next fiscal year, while it was 15,000 earlier in 2020-21.
Wipro didn’t disclose the numbers but has said that it has a robust hiring plan for FY22 across all the positions including the onboarding of senior officers.
In the month of December 2020, Rajesh Nambiar, Managing Director, Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp had said that he plans to hire 23,000 freshers in 2021 and the company will onboard these employees from campuses in India.
IT major Capgemini is also planning a massive hiring drive and employing over 24,000 new employees in year of 2021.
Announcing the Q3 results, Vijayakumar, CEO, HCL Technologies also said that the company will hire 20,000 people both freshers and laterals, over the next 4-6 months. And around 5000 freshers from campuses in Jan-March 2021 quarter.
