Poddar Plumbing Systems Pvt. Ltd., a manufacturer of CPVC and PVC pipes, has announced a significant expansion in Karnataka with a total investment of ₹758 crore.
The company plans to establish a large-scale manufacturing facility in the Vemgal Industrial Area (Phase 2) in Kolar district, spread across 33 acres, and has proposed a second unit in Vijayapura.
This initiative will generate 12,000 jobs, including 3,000 direct and 9,000 indirect employment opportunities, contributing meaningfully to the state’s industrial and economic development.
Investment Breakdown and Operational Timeline
The investment marks a substantial increase from the company’s earlier commitment of ₹492 crore.
Of the ₹758 crore, ₹93 crore is allocated for land acquisition, ₹578 crore for building and machinery, and ₹87 crore for capital expenditure taxes.
Construction teams and engineers have already begun building the Vemgal facility and installing machinery, with operations scheduled to commence by August 2026.
The Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) has already allotted 28 acres to the company. An additional 5 acres are expected to be handed over soon.
Poddar Plumbing Product Range and Manufacturing Focus
The upcoming facility will produce a wide array of high-quality piping solutions for various applications.
These include CPVC and UPVC pipes for plumbing and water distribution, agricultural pipes for irrigation, and industrial pipes designed to transport chemicals and gases.
This product diversification aligns with Poddar Plumbing’s goal of supporting infrastructure development and meeting growing demand across sectors.
Economic Impact and Revenue Projections
Poddar Plumbing projects an annual turnover of ₹1,500 crore within the next decade.
The initiative is projected to contribute significantly to the state’s economy.
It will generate around ₹3,000 crore in tax revenues for the government during the same period.
These figures reflect the company’s long-term commitment to Karnataka’s industrial ecosystem and its potential to contribute to regional economic growth.

The announcement followed a meeting between Deepak Poddar, Managing Director, and Varun Poddar, Director of Poddar Plumbing, with M.B. Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries.
Deepak Poddar emphasized the company’s dedication to industrial growth and employment generation, stating, “Our latest investment reaffirms our long-term vision of making India self-reliant in advanced piping solutions.”
He added, “With the new facility in Vemgal and our proposed unit in Vijayapura, we aim to manufacture world-class products, foster local talent, and contribute significantly to the region’s economic development”.
