The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has announced a significant change in KSRTC employees salary payment schedule.

From now on, KSRTC employees will receive their salaries on the first day of every month.

This decision was announced by Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar during the inauguration of a new Emergency Medical Unit at the Thampanoor KSRTC Central Bus Station.

KSRTC Employees’ Salary: Background and Rationale

The decision to change the salary payment schedule comes after months of financial challenges faced by KSRTC.

Previously, the corporation had been paying salaries in installments due to cash flow issues.

However, with the support of the Kerala government, KSRTC has now made arrangements. They are ensuring that salaries are paid in full on the first of each month.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired a meeting to address the issues faced by KSRTC.

The government has decided to assist the corporation in implementing this new payment schedule.

Additional Announcements and Employee Reactions

During the event, Minister Ganesh Kumar also highlighted other improvements planned for KSRTC over the next six months.

These include renting out canteen facilities, providing meals for travelers through good hotels, and extending the Emergency Medical Unit to 14 bus stations.

Primary care services are provided free of cost by the new unit.

It is build in partnership with the Society for Emergency Medicine India and NIMS Medicity.

KSRTC employees have welcomed the new salary payment schedule, expressing relief and appreciation for the timely payments.

KSRTC is also planning to introduce other initiatives to improve employee welfare, such as child care allowances. Other initiatives include furlough leave systems.

These measures aim to support employees in balancing their work and personal lives.

The decision to pay KSRTC employees on the first of every month marks a significant step towards financial stability and improved job satisfaction for the workforce.
