341,544 employees laid off in 2023: MS Dhoni-backed firm layoffs more people

The year 2023 has been a year of layoffs there have been 1,489 layoffs at tech companies with 341,544 people impacted (1,383 people per day).

The move of layoffs is part of a larger trend of tech companies cutting jobs and slowing hiring as investors become increasingly fearful of a recession. Tech companies have either frozen the hiring process or laid off many employees.

So far in 2023, there have been 1,489 layoffs at tech companies with 341,544 people impacted (1,383 people per day). In 2022, there were 1,557 layoffs at tech companies with 243,318 people impacted (667 people per day).

The move of layoffs is part of a larger trend of tech companies cutting jobs and slowing hiring as investors become increasingly fearful of a recession. Tech companies have either frozen the hiring process or laid off many employees.

MS Dhoni-backed Khatabook implements layoffs for profitability

Khatabook, a fintech firm based in Bengaluru, has reportedly carried out a fresh round of layoffs. The restructuring has impacted 6% of the company’s 700 employees.

The layoffs at Khatabook have affected employees in engineering, product development, and marketing roles. The company has provided the impacted employees with a separation package that covers 3 months of salary.

Malwarebytes lays off employees ahead of business split

Cybersecurity giant Malwarebytes has laid off 100 employees as it prepares for a major restructuring that will see the business split into two.

The layoffs come almost exactly a year after Malwarebytes eliminated 14% of its global workforce.

Microsoft Cloud tools vendor Skykick lays off 140 staff

According to the reports of the CRN, SkyKick backup tools for Microsoft 365 will be reducing its global workforce by over 100 employees.

The company’s LinkedIn profile indicates an employee count of approximately 300. However, it remains unclear whether this figure represents the workforce before or after the recent reduction.
