Mamaearth’s Momspresso, Oracle & more laid off many employees

The Layoffs are never-ending recently Mamaearth’s Momspresso, Oracle and TrueCar have laid off several employees.

India’s largest user-generated content platform for women, Mamaearth’s Momspresso has laid off 80–100 employees. As reported by The Hindu Business Line, it will impact the brand marketing vertical. In 2021, Mamaearth acquired a majority stake in the parenting platform Momspresso.

Momspresso (formerly mycity4kids) is a safe platform for Moms to express themselves, in the form of text, video, and audio blogs. 95% of the content is user-generated and created by 60,000 mom bloggers in English, Hindi, and 8 other regional languages.

Layoffs in Oracle

According to the reports of Business Insider, Oracle will lay off employees which will be affecting the health unit. The exact number of employees that have been impacted remains unclear, and it is still uncertain whether layoffs will impact the workforce in India.

Additionally, The company is also rescinding job offers and cutting back some open positions. Earlier this year, Oracle laid off more than 3,000 employees 

Leslie DeHaan, one of the employees at the company also shared the post saying, “Hey friends and colleagues! Today I was laid off from my company, so if you are hiring or want to refer me to any open positions please do!”

TrueCar lays off 24 percent of employees; CEO steps down

A US-based automotive digital marketplace, TrueCar will lay off nearly 24 percent of its workforce. This is approximately 102 employees as part of a restructuring effort.

Moreover, President and CEO Michael Darrow has stepped down from his executive position. The company was founded in 2005, TrueCar has built a trusted brand and a strong reputation for providing consumers with useful tools, research, market context, and pricing transparency as they embark on their car-buying journey.

As per trueup, So far in 2023, there have been 1,106 layoffs at tech companies with 314,734 people impacted (1,885 people per day). In 2022, there were 1,557 layoffs at tech companies 243,318 people were impacted (667 people per day).
