The major companies that laid off employees include Meta, Infosys, Amazon, Google, Byju’s, Wipro, and Salesforce laid off a maximum number of workers globally.

Apparently, Major tech companies have laid off employees exponentially due to economic uncertainties. The move of layoffs is part of a larger trend of tech companies cutting jobs and slowing hiring as investors become increasingly fearful of a recession. Tech companies have either frozen the hiring process or laid off many employees.

Recently, Marnie Thao Nguyen shared a post sharing that she was laid off at 30 weeks pregnant and she had to appear for job interviews until a week was left before the birth of her first child.

Marnie Thao Nguyen, post said, “At 30 weeks pregnant with my first child, I was laid off by Meta along with my entire team. I was excelling and enjoying my work, so this news came as a complete surprise.”

“The next 10 weeks were supposed to be the most exciting and precious time as I prepare to welcome my daughter. Instead, I spent days and nights anxiously job searching, worried about maintaining legal status as an immigrant worker, while taking care of my health and learning how to become a new mom”, she said.

“As an H1B worker, I did not have the luxury of time. With a growing family dependent on me, I pushed myself to interview up until a week before my delivery, just for offers to get rescinded due to the fast-changing business needs in Tech”, her post added.

Her post further said, “A week postpartum, I returned to job search and interviews while recovering from childbirth and caring for my newborn. I am eternally moved and humbled by the outpouring of support from the communities and networks in my life that connected and introduced me to opportunities throughout this time.”

The post added, “Today, as my infant turns 3 months old, I am proud to start with Cisco and become a working mom. I’m joining a team of smart and capable teammates who already exemplify empathy, trust, confidence, and transparency through this difficult process. I am excited for this new chapter of life with a company and team that care and stand by their employees.”

“As a first-time mom, I do grieve the missed undivided time with my newborn in her first few months of life. However, I am proud to one day tell this story to my daughter and be a role model as she learns how to turn lemons into lemonade through her own life. #Cisco Newbie #working mom #meta layoffs #maternity leave“, the post concluded.
