XLRI Jamshedpur to provide HR training to 500 Coal India employees

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Coal India (CIL) and the Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur, under which XLRI will be providing a customised training programme to CIL officers to hone their leadership and management skills in the HR domain.

The announcement that has been made is about 500 HR personnel of CIL that will be part of this leadership-development programme which will be held at the XLRI Jamshedpur campus, in phases.

The first batch of corporate training programme will be starting from April 2022.

“As a thought-leader in HR, XLRI accepts requests from organizations for conducting customised training programmes for their executives at different levels, and offers unique programmes to suit the business and developmental needs of client organisations.” said the director.

I am happy to have joined hands with CIL and we will work together on building a strong academia-industry interface”, he added.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Ashish K Pani, dean – academics, XLRI said, “Getting employees exposed to relevant and consistent training will help companies improve their performance and increase results in the workspace. This program will help in skill enhancement and drive better results.”

The MoU was signed between Fr Paul Fernandes, director, XLRI, and Vinay Ranjan, director (P&IR) Coal India. This MoU strengthen the industry-academia relationship between XLRI Jamshedpur and Coal India.

XLRI is one of the oldest business schools in India. Its first campus is in the steel city of India, Jamshedpur. Presently, it also has a campus in Delhi-NCR, at Jhajjar.

The Institute offers such customised training for executives, which further helps organisation to increase performance and skill enhancement.

This event was attended by Prof. AK Pani, dean, academics, Prof. M Srimannarayana, associate dean corporate & VIL programs, Prof. Anita Sarkar, Program Director for this Program, SK Tiwary, head, Corporate Programs from XLRI, and Dr. R K Dash, HoD (HRD) from Coal India Ltd.
