The scheme targets individuals aged 21 to 24 who are not currently enrolled in full-time academic programs or employed full-time.

The goal is to empower these individuals by providing them with practical experience, professional networks, and enhanced employability.

Key Features of the Scheme

  • Internship Duration and Stipend: The internships last for 12 months, combining structured training with a minimum of six months of practical work experience. Selected interns receive monthly financial assistance of ₹5,000 and a one-time assistance of ₹6,000.
  • Participating Companies and Sectors: Over 300 top companies across 730 districts in India are participating in the scheme. These companies span various sectors, including Oil & Gas, Banking, Hospitality, Automotive, Manufacturing, and FMCG.
  • Application Process: Applicants can choose internships based on location, sector, area of interest, and even specify a radius from their current address for convenience. Each candidate can apply to a maximum of three internships before the deadline.

To be eligible for the PM Internship Scheme 2025, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 24 years old.
  • Employment Status: Candidates should not be currently enrolled in full-time academic programs or employed full-time.
  • Income Criteria: Applicants must not have a family member (self/spouse/parents) earning more than ₹8 lakh per annum and must not have a government job.

  • Outreach Events: To raise awareness, more than 70 outreach events are being held nationwide, targeting colleges, universities, and vocational training institutes. Additionally, national digital campaigns are leveraging various platforms and influencers to reach potential applicants1.
