Union Minister Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Skill Centre at the Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM).

The visit also marked the launch of the second phase of the “Chaudhary Charan Singh Parivarik Vaniki Mission”, a nationwide green initiative commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji.

Skill Centre: Building Agri-Entrepreneurs for Tomorrow

The newly inaugurated Skill Centre at CCS NIAM is envisioned as a specialized hub for practical training in:

  • Agri-business management
  • Warehouse operations
  • Value chain development
  • Digital agriculture

It aims to nurture the next generation of agri-entrepreneurs, cooperatives, and marketing professionals, aligning with India’s push for food grain storage modernization.

During the visit, Union Minister also felicitated trainees certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, conducted in partnership with the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA).

The RPL initiative validates prior experience of warehouse assayers and aligns their skills with national standards, enhancing employability and formalizing the agri-logistics workforce.

This massive plantation drive stands out as one of the largest community-led green initiatives in the state.

Union Minister described the initiative as a fusion of environmental action and legacy-building, stating, “This mission is not just about trees—it’s about connecting Chaudhary Charan Singh’s pro-farmer ideology with climate justice and familial responsibility.”

The Minister planted a sapling at the Krishi Udyamita Upvan located within the CCS NIAM campus. He also paid floral tribute to Chaudhary Charan Singh Ji during his visit.
