‘Lazy girl job’ trend: Newest workplace trend hits back at hustle culture

The “lazy girl job” has been popularised by an influencer claiming that the corporate hustle culture will not get you anywhere.

An influencer shared the video saying, “Get your lazy girl job 9-5s are still cool and you can do them the right way. Getting a remote good paying, flexible job is super important!”

“When we take a corporate job for what it is we can create a true balance around work. It’s important to decenter your full-time job from who you are as a person. Your 5-9 is just as important. Career paths are no longer relevant”, she mentioned.

“You do not need to stay at one career track and one company to learn and grow your career. We get to be multi-faceted people where our own success can look unique to us! With this exact mentality, I was able to leave corporate America and pursue my dreams in content creation as an entrepreneurship”, she added in the post on Instagram.

“Of course, not everyone needs to have side hustles. With all of that extra free time and energy, you get to choose what you want to do! This ideology of work is really where Anti Work Girlboss and the Lazy Girl Job Program was born”, she added.

“I understand how to think smarter instead of work harder. I’m sure as you were listening to this post you said something along the lines of not having the time to look for a new job. Great! That’s where the Lazy Girl Job Program can cut time and optimize your job search process. It’s important to make a career switch precisely!”, she further wrote.

She added, “She deliberately chose the word “lazy” to describe the anti-hustle ethos from the perspective of a toxic corporate workplace. “

“Everything that I’m talking about here is considered lazy if you compare it to the toxic corporate workplace expectations,” she said in a video.

However in response to the video one user said, “Instead of calling it “lazy girl job” why not reframe your pitch to “flexible” or “job love” or “work-life balance” or “work to live”??”
