As per ET report, employees are facing challenges in adapting to work-from-office. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, remote work (working from home) become a necessity for tech companies worldwide.

The employees had to swiftly adapt to working from home, relying on virtual communication tools and remote collaboration platforms.

As vaccination rates increased and the world slowly returned to normalcy, it is crucial to examine the implications of ending work-from-home arrangements within tech companies.

However, the companies have taken various steps so that the employees start resuming to offices and have ended working from home.

According to the report, there is apprehension among employees regarding the adaptation to the work-from-office model, and 69 percent of respondents are concerned about the potential challenges associated with this transition, report by staffing solutions and HR services provider Genius Consultants said.

25 percent of employees have demonstrated resilience and confidence in their ability to navigate and adapt to the renewed office environment. This showcases their positive mindset towards returning to the workplace.

However, a significant 82 percent of employees have expressed concerns about the increasing availability of work-from-home job opportunities in the market. This indicates that many employees are considering alternative remote work options.

On a positive note, approximately 67 percent of respondents believe that working from the office promotes the integration of new employees with the larger workforce. It is seen as a catalyst for fostering organizational values and team bonding.

As companies bid farewell to widespread remote working at tech companies, the transition towards a new normal requires careful consideration. The end of ubiquitous WFH offers an opportunity to reset workplace dynamics, reinvent collaboration strategies, and revitalize company culture.

Maintaining flexibility, supporting employee well-being, and adapting office spaces will be essential in crafting successful pathways forward. Let us embrace these changes with optimism as we embark on this journey together, towards shaping the future workplaces.

The report is based on an online survey among 1,213 employees from October 26 to November 30 across sectors like banking and finance, education, FMCG, hospitality, HR solutions, IT, ITES, and manufacturing.
