Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India are set to significantly ramp up their hiring of fresh engineering graduates in the fiscal year 2025.

This move comes as the tech sector anticipates a minimum 25% growth in campus placements, driven by the increasing demand for skills in AI, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity.

According to estimates by TeamLease Digital, GCCs are projected to increase fresher hiring by 48% compared to the previous fiscal year.

GCCs Hiring 2025: Rising Demand for Specialized Skills

In FY24, when IT services firms slowed down fresher hiring due to economic challenges, GCCs emerged as top recruiters.

Typically hiring between 85,000 to 1 lakh freshers annually, GCCs are now expected to hire around 1.33 lakh freshers in FY25.

This includes both campus placements and off-campus recruitments.

The growing need for specialized skills in AI, Cloud, and Cybersecurity, which are becoming increasingly critical in the tech industry, has driven this rise in hiring.

In 2023, GCCs made around 32% of entry-level hires through off-campus recruitment. This percentage will increase to nearly 40% by the end of 2025.

This shift indicates a broader strategy by GCCs to tap into a wider talent pool and not just rely on campus placements.

Off-campus hiring allows companies to access candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences, which can be beneficial for specialized roles.

Attractive Salaries and Career Opportunities

GCCs offer competitive salaries, with entry-level positions commanding between 8 lakh to 12 lakh per annum (LPA).

Specialized roles in AI and Cloud can even reach up to 15 LPA.

This premium compensation, coupled with opportunities for upskilling and career growth, makes GCCs an attractive option for fresh graduates.

The emphasis on continuous learning and development is a key factor in attracting top talent.

GCCs are also investing in curriculum development at universities to ensure that graduates are job-ready.

By collaborating with educational institutions, GCCs aim to design and implement specific chapters. This approach can produce talent tailored to their needs.

This proactive approach helps bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements. It ensures that fresh graduates are more prepared for their roles.
