According to Business Insider, The world’s leading designer, marketer, and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, Nike is really going through a sexual harassment and gender discrimination lawsuit.

The lawsuit against Nike has produced more than 5,000 pages of records, including surveys of women employees, wherein they have alleged sexist attitudes and behavior at the sportswear giant, in addition to corporate bullying and fears of retaliation.

The female employees spoke out about the sexist and belittling culture that the company had. The surveys are called Starfish Surveys and only ten of them have been made public presently.

The female employees had the same sentiments regarding the:-

  • Corporate Bullying
  • Sexual Harassment

There are around 5,000 pages of records and surveys of female employees that have been unsealed and provided what they have actually said about the environment at the brand.

The surveys, written by female Nike employees in 2018 describe a pressure-cooker environment where women felt they were treated as inferior and called “bitch,” “honey,” and “girls.”

Nike employees filled out the surveys after being fed up with the company culture. The surveys expose sexual intimidation, bullying, and other toxic behavior in the Nike workplace.

One female employee wrote that “When I received this questionnaire, I asked several of my female coworkers what they thought of working at Nike. I asked how fairly they were treated based on performance vs gender. All unanimously talked about the ‘the Boys Club’ of Nike.”

“A giant men’s sports team, where favoritism prevails and females couldn’t possibly play in the sandbox”, the female added.

Another employee said that she had seen a male executive receiving sexual favours from a lower-ranking woman at the company’s gym. The report also added male employees got drunk on company trips and put their arms around female employees or asked subordinate female employees on ‘work dinners’.
