Global consulting firm EY India has launched its AI Academy, a comprehensive learning platform designed to upskill talent in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) across industries.

The initiative aims to address the critical talent shortage in AI capabilities, with 97% of enterprises citing lack of skilled professionals as a major barrier to adoption.

The Academy builds on EY’s internal success, having already trained over 44,000 employees in AI and GenAI.

It now extends this expertise to external enterprises in telecom, infrastructure, banking, IT/ITeS, and FMCG, offering role-specific training and industry-tailored use cases.

EY AI Academy: Learning Paths and Real-World Applications

The AI Academy offers structured, hands-on learning paths curated by leading AI experts.

These paths cover everything from foundational AI concepts to advanced GenAI applications, supported by 200+ real-world use cases.

EY customizes the curriculum to client needs and delivers it through project-based modules and AI-enabled technology to ensure practical impact.

Key modules include:

  • AI Ambassadors: A two-day workshop for leaders to develop an AI manifesto aligned with business goals
  • AI Transformation Champions: Role-specific training to identify and implement AI use cases
  • AI Aspirants: Foundational training for employees on AI concepts and GenAI prompting techniques
  • AI Development & Implementation Specialists: Deep skilling for technical roles like data scientists and GenAI engineers

Driving Business Outcomes Through AI

EY’s AI Academy is designed to deliver tangible business outcomes, including:

  • Revenue growth
  • Operational cost reduction
  • Enhanced customer experience
  • Risk mitigation

A pilot program across five enterprises has already resulted in 50+ AI projects and the creation of leadership AI manifestos to guide strategic adoption.

Economic Impact and Future Workforce Readiness

According to EY’s January 2025 study, AI adoption could transform 38 million jobs by 2030, boosting India’s productivity by 2.61% in the organized sector and 2.82% in the unorganized sector.

The Academy enables learning at every level, from operational teams to senior decision-makers. It also fosters a culture of innovation and adaptability across organizations.

EY is also engaging with future talent through Techathon, a nationwide competition challenging college students to solve real-world problems using AI.
