EY, KPMG issued an advisory on WFO to employees

According to ET reports, EY Global Delivery Services (EY GDS) & KPMG Global Services (KGS) have issued an advisory on the return to work policy.

As the Covid cases have dropped major companies have resumed work from the office or issued notifications regarding work-from-office policies.

EY Work From Office Advisory

The EY GDS has also asked selective teams and newly joined employees to return to the office. This policy is effective from May for a few days a week. Additionally, Employees in places other than base locations are asked to return to the office.

Across 10 locations and 21 cities, the company operates with teams from all EY service lines, geographies, and sectors. The company operates in Argentina, China, Hungary, India, the Philippines, Poland, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

KPMG Global Services (KGS) Work From Office Advisory

A strategic global delivery organization, KPMG Global Services is implementing the work-from-office policy from 3rd April 2023. The employees are expected to work from the office two-three days a week.

In the email, KGS said: “In continuation of this effort to provide our colleagues with optimum work-life flexibility, we will implement hybrid work across all teams at KGS Consulting starting 3 April 2023.”

“This means that colleagues will be required to work from their designated offices for a minimum of two days a week”, the e-mail added.

“KPMG Global Services has responded to the evolving need of talent and workplace and has adopted hybrid working”, it added.

The company currently employs over 227,000 outstanding professionals working together to deliver value in 146 countries and territories.

Statement on Work from Office of other Organizations

Meta (formerly named Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg has recently urged employees to work from the office to increase efficiency. Additionally, he also said the company’s analysis shows the employees who worked from the office fared better than those who worked remotely.

Mark Zuckerberg said, “As part of our Year of Efficiency, we’re focusing on understanding this further and finding ways to make sure people build the necessary connections to work effectively.”

“In the meantime, I encourage all of you to find more opportunities to work with your colleagues in person… In-person time helps build relationships and get more done,” Mark Zuckerberg added.

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji has said that Remote work ‘spoiled’ the IT industry, and more employees should work from offices.

Rishad Premji said, “You can’t build that connectedness and intimacy no matter how advanced technology gets. We are human beings.”

“I am a big believer that we should be coming back (to offices) in some shape and form,” Rishad Premji added.

“People should have the flexibility to work from home but people should also be coming into organizations,” he said.

Companies like; Amazon, Happiest Minds and Snapchat have already announced work from the office. The top IT companies — Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, and Wipro have encouraged employees to work from the office a few days every week.
