National Human Rights Commission is hiring for Internships; Apply

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is inviting applications for the Short Term Online Internship Programme.

NHRC also offers opportunities throughout the year except to students from various streams especially from the law stream, to have attachment with the Commission in batches on a short-term basis for 15 days. During the internship, the students are exposed to the functioning of various divisions of the Commission.

The students pursuing Graduation, LLB, Masters including the relevant field of Human Rights, Integrated Course (BBALLB, B. Com LLB, BALLB… etc) can apply for the online internship at NHRC, according to the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Advertisement.

The maximum age limit for students to apply for an internship is 28 years computed as on 01.04.2024. If earlier you have done any internship with NHRC, then you are not eligible for doing this internship.

They are also made aware of the process of complaints being attended to by the Commission as well as other issues being taken up. Allowing them to interact with the complainants also is an important feature.

India’s National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) was established on 12 October 1993. The statute under which it was based is the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA) as amended by the Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Act, 2006.

It conforms with the Paris Principles, adopted at the first international workshop on national institutions for promoting and protecting human rights in Paris in October 1991 and endorsed by the General Assembly of the United Nations by its Regulations 48/134 of 20 December 1993.

The NHRC is an embodiment of India’s concern for the promotion and protection of human rights.
